This Cookie Policy explains how Lumin Pro Ltd. ("Lumin", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on lumin.pro (the "Site"). We are committed to respecting your privacy and complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
1Data controller
The data controller responsible for your personal data is:
Lumin Pro Ltd.
66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA
Email: privacy@lumin.pro
3Legal basis for cookies
Under PECR and UK GDPR, the legal basis for our use of cookies depends on their purpose:
- Strictly necessary and functional cookies do not require consent. They are essential for the Site to function, or exist only because of something you did, such as saving a draft or choosing a setting.
- Analytics and advertising cookies require your consent. We don't currently use either. You can choose whether to allow advertising cookies through the cookie banner or Settings > Cookie preferences in the Lumin app, and withdraw consent at any time. If we ever add analytics or advertising cookies, we will ask for your consent before using them.
5Third-party services and international data transfers
No third-party cookies are set on the Site. We do use the services below to run Lumin. Some of them process data outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards are in place (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the service provider's participation in recognised data protection frameworks).
Third-party services we use include:
- Google Places & Gemini (location autocomplete and AI-generated recaps). See Google's Privacy Policy
- Stripe (payment processing and creator subscriptions). See Stripe's Privacy Policy
- Postmark (email delivery). See Postmark's Privacy Policy
- Finnhub (market data). See Finnhub's Terms of Service
- Didit (identity verification). See Didit's Privacy Policy
- Ecologi (environmental impact tracking). See Ecologi's Privacy Policy
When you leave Lumin to pay with Stripe or to verify your identity with Didit, those sites set their own cookies under their own policies.
6Managing your cookie preferences
You can change your advertising choice at any time through Settings > Cookie preferences in the Lumin app. Strictly necessary and functional items are always on. Signing out removes the personal items listed in section 4, and you can view or delete the rest through your browser settings. Most web browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored on your device
- Block cookies altogether
- Block cookies from specific websites
- Delete cookies upon closing your browser
- Set preferences for different types of cookies (e.g., third-party vs. first-party)
If you block or delete them, you will be signed out, and drafts and settings saved on that device will be lost.
For more general information on cookies and how to manage them, visit allaboutcookies.org or youronlinechoices.com/uk.
7Your rights
Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal)
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk
8Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
